1. Crosslinking agent for EVA foam.
When corsslinked by DCP, the foamed EVA possessed special properties better than that of other foamed materials in lightweight, coloration and abrasion-resistance. It has become as an essential ingredient for making sandals, slippers and show soles.
2. Crosslinking agent for polyethylene insulated electric cable ( XLPE cable) in the production of insulated electric cable, polyethylene after crosslinked by DCP, can resist high temperature caused by electric current in the wire. It has become a very important material in the field of wire can cable.
3. Vulcanizing agent for ERP & EPT.
ERP & EPT are newly developed synthetic rubbers which have given indication fo sufficient quality to merit careful consideration for wire and cable coating and conveyor belts. ERP can' t be cured by sulfur, however can be efficiently cured by DCP or organic peroxides. DCP becomes a necessity in improving the heat resistance capability of EPT.
4. It is a strong free radical source; used as a polymerization initiator, catalyst and vulcanizing agent. The half-life temperatures are 61 C ( for 10 hours) , 80 C ( for 1 hour) and 120 C ( for 1 min.) . DCP decomposes rapidly, causing fire and explosion hazard, on heating and under influence of light. It reacts violently with incompatible substances or ignition sources ( acids, bases, reducing agents, and heavy metals) .
